Crostini 101

Do you have a party coming up and are trying to find that perfect appetizer? Or are you like me and just love having small bites for dinner? Well I am here to give you just my short little take of the perfect way to ensure that you have fantastic Crostini every time the mood strikes!

First off here is what my definition of a perfect Crostini is:

  • 1-3 Bite Max

  • Small but Flavorful

  • Looks Pretty (without having to spend all day plating)

For the easiest prep with the greatest reward being flavor, I always find that starting with a Crusty Grilled Bread base (or Crostini) Add a little chopped tomato, some fine diced onion, olive oil, S&P, and BOOM you have a Instagram worthy Bruschetta, that would cost $5 per piece at a fancy Italian restaurant.


Take that same base & just have fun with the toppings!

  • Add Goat cheese, basil, tomato & Balsamic Vinegar (My ALL TIME Favorite)

  • Add Whipped ricotta, roasted grapes, spiced walnuts & a honey drizzle

  • Add warm Brie cheese, a thin slice of apple & a smear of apricot marmalade

  • Add Goat cheese, caramelized onions, and candied walnuts

  • Add mashed avocado, and spicy shrimp on top

  • Add whipped marscapone cheese with basil, topped with sliced strawberries & balsamic drizzle
